Privacy Notice
Effective date: [effective date to be set at launch]
Collins Law, PLLC ("Collins Law," "we," "us") operates the Collins Law Educational Center at https://learn.collinslaw-lv.com (the "Educational Center"). This notice explains what information we collect through the Educational Center, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It is provided in accordance with Nevada law, including NRS 603A.300 to 603A.360.
Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to provide your account, deliver the educational programs and issue certificates:
- Account information you provide: first and last name, email address, and password (stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash; we cannot see it). If you choose to add them, organization, profession and telephone number.
- Bar admissions (optional): the states where you are licensed and your bar numbers, if you add them to receive continuing legal education (CLE) credit, together with attendance codes you enter and course evaluations you submit.
- Purchase records: what you bought, when, the amount, and the status of any subscription. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure page and are never received or stored by Collins Law.
- Learning records: which programs you open, when you watched, how much of each program you watched, where you stopped, the number of viewing sessions, completion status and dates, certificates issued, programs you save for later, and any private notes you write.
- Security and technical information: IP address, browser and device type, sign-in times, and records of security events (such as failed sign-in attempts), used to protect accounts and prevent misuse.
The Educational Center is an educational service. Please do not submit confidential or case-specific information through it. Information you provide here is not part of any attorney-client communication.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account, confirm your email address and let you reset your password.
- To stream programs, save your place, show your progress, and determine whether completion requirements have been met.
- To issue certificates of completion and allow others to verify a certificate's authenticity.
- To operate, maintain and improve the Educational Center, including aggregate reporting on program use.
- To communicate with you about your account. We send marketing messages only if you opt in on your profile.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your covered information. We share information only with service providers that host and operate the Educational Center on our behalf and under confidentiality and security obligations:
- our application and database hosting provider (Render Services, Inc.);
- our video streaming provider (BunnyWay d.o.o., "Bunny.net"), which delivers the video stream to your device and receives technical information such as your IP address when you play a video;
- our email delivery provider, which sends account and certificate emails;
- our payment processor (Stripe, Inc.), which processes purchases and subscriptions under its own privacy policy.
CLE reporting. If you add a bar number and complete a program that is approved for CLE credit in that state, we report your name, bar number, the course, the credits and the date of completion to that state's bar or CLE authority, as course providers are required to do.
We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect the rights and safety of Collins Law or others, or in connection with a transfer of our practice. Anyone who has a certificate number can confirm the participant name, program title, duration and completion date shown on that certificate through our verification page.
Third-party tracking
The Educational Center does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics, and we do not allow third parties to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites through the Educational Center. We use only cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to protect forms against forgery.
Reviewing and correcting your information
You can review and update your name and profile details at any time on the My Profile page, and see your learning history on the My Learning Progress page. To request a correction of your information or an issued certificate, a copy of your records, or the closing of your account, contact us at [contact email to be set] or (725) 210-7680. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We keep certificate and completion records after an account is closed so that issued certificates can still be verified, unless the law requires otherwise.
Requests not to sell
We do not sell covered information as defined in NRS 603A.333. Nevada consumers may nevertheless submit a verified request directing us not to make any sale by emailing [contact email to be set].
Security
We maintain reasonable security measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls with two-step verification for administrators, limits on sign-in attempts, protected video delivery and regular backups. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. If a breach of the security of our system affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by NRS 603A.220.
Retention
We keep account and learning records for as long as your account is open and for a reasonable period afterward to verify certificates, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Security logs are kept for a shorter period.
Children
The Educational Center is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this notice
If we make material changes to this notice, we will post the updated notice here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, notify registered users by email or by a notice when they sign in.
