Terms of Use
Effective date: [effective date to be set at launch]
These Terms of Use govern your account with and use of the Collins Law Educational Center (the "Educational Center"), operated by Collins Law, PLLC ("Collins Law"). By creating an account you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Notice.
1. Educational content only; no legal advice
Programs are provided for general educational purposes. They are not legal advice, may not reflect the most current legal developments, and may not apply to your situation. Using the Educational Center, watching a program, or communicating with us through it does not create an attorney-client relationship. Do not send confidential information through the Educational Center. Consult a qualified attorney about your specific circumstances.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, including your legal name as you want it to appear on certificates. Accounts are individual: do not share your sign-in, let another person watch on your behalf, or create more than one account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and must tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being misused.
3. Viewing records and certificates
The Educational Center records how much of each program you watch. A certificate of completion is issued automatically when the program's completion requirement (for example, watching 90% of the program) is met, as determined by our records. Certificates document completion of an educational program offered by Collins Law. Unless a certificate expressly states otherwise, it does not represent continuing legal education (CLE) credit, accredited continuing education, professional licensing credit, or academic credit. We may correct, re-issue or revoke a certificate issued in error or obtained by circumventing the completion requirements.
4. Purchases, subscriptions and refunds
Some programs, packages and sample forms require payment. Prices are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; Collins Law does not receive your card number. One-time purchases give access for the period stated at purchase (or without expiration if none is stated). Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from My Purchases (Manage billing); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and access continues until then. [Refund policy to be inserted by Collins Law, e.g., "Because content is available immediately, purchases are non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion."] Access ends if a payment is reversed or refunded. Access and purchased forms are for the purchaser's own use and may not be shared or resold.
5. CLE credit
CLE credit is available only for programs that have been approved by the relevant jurisdiction, and only when the program page says so. To receive credit you must enter your bar number, watch the required portion of the program, enter any attendance codes shown during it, and complete the evaluation. Collins Law reports attendance to the bar as the course provider. You remain responsible for meeting your own CLE requirements and for confirming that credit has posted to your record.
6. Sample forms
Sample forms are educational starting points for use by attorneys and other knowledgeable users. They are not legal advice, may not fit your situation, and must be reviewed and adapted to the facts and current law before use. Collins Law is not responsible for the use of any form without independent professional review.
7. Permitted use of content
All programs, recordings, slides, materials and forms are owned by Collins Law or its licensors and are protected by copyright. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to stream them through the Educational Center for your own education. You may not download, record, copy, redistribute, publicly display, sell, or create derivative works from them, or attempt to bypass any access control or tracking measure.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Educational Center, other accounts, or our systems; not to use automated means to access content or manipulate viewing records; and not to use the Educational Center for any unlawful purpose.
9. Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove programs and features, and may change these terms. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Educational Center and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Collins Law is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Educational Center.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada.
